The Sky Gardens is a 45-floor tower in the Dubai International Financial Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The tower has a total structural height of 160 m (525 ft), 575 units vary from studio,1,2,3 bedroom and 7 luxury penthouses Construction of the Sky Gardens was completed in 2008. Construction started in March 2005. Enabling works executed by NSCC and blance work by Arabtec. Sky Gardens is situated on 312th Road, opposite Dubai International Financial District (DIFC) and next to Empower building. The building is notorious for its poor service and bad smell, such as the Jacuzzi having been unusable for over 2 years as of 2015, the windows get cleaned just once a year right before the rain and sandstorm season, and the entire summer leaving the drainage that runs through all apartments to have a terrible smell as the day heats up. The security on site offer nothing more than guidance for taxi drivers and visitors, as seen in 2015 when some Africans who were visiting Dubai were causing trouble in the front entrance of Sky Gardens but the security guards were too afraid to deal with the issue and just stood around watching. There has been on-going issues with gardens to the building management and air conditioning for the last 4 years, with prices rocketing up in costs even though there is no meters and no proof of individuals using more power which was formerly managed by District Cooling. Inside the building there are internal-gardens that span 7 floors in height. The gardens themselves are rarely used by the residents or visitors, and instead provide the building a sense of lonely wasted space. When you rent an apartment in Sky Gardens, they do take the expected security deposit upon moving in, but also demand the residents to pay an additional 1000 AED during moving out day to as a "moving out security deposit". This has caused upset among residents who deem the initial deposit to be sufficient and this additional 1000 AED to just show yet more greed from the Sky Gardens management team. In 2015 Sky Gardens management made a business decision to move their air conditioning billing from District Cooling to Logic Utilities. This caused many residents to vacate their apartments and find homes elsewhere due to the annual "billing charge" of 560AED on top of the expect 550+ AED per month in AirCon billing that the average 1 bedroom apartment uses.
